I've been frustrated lately because I feel like my home has lost any semblance of interior design. When my family started to grow, my well laid plans went by the wayside. Thanks for this post. I now feel inspired to at least try to take back my master bedroom space! Maybe I should invest in a new lock for the door while I'm at it.

I adore Asian design. There is something about it that I find extremely soothing. Even visiting an Asian restaurant relaxes me.

I stumbled across your site today and felt compelled to comment. I was just in my dentist's office earlier this week. I try to distract myself while I'm sitting in the chair, so I started checking out the decor (silly, I know). It struck me that the wallpaper looked a lot like what was in my Grandmother's house when I was growing up. I would have laughed, but the dentist had his hands in my mouth! Funny that they spend so much on the office space and the equipment they use, and then ignore how the place actually looks!

My dentist's office has wallpaper showing little men riding on horses. I don't quite get the theme. The point of your post is good. I know that a lot of people seriously stress out when they are about to get their teeth fixed. Something soothing only makes sense. Maybe they could turn off the piped in elevator music too and play something a bit more current.

I've been considering letting my two daughters come up with a theme for their shared bedroom. I may encourage them to read this website before they make any decisions about designs they might like.

THANK YOU! I've been trying to convince my husband to go with an all white bedroom theme for two years. He insists that it would be boring. I showed him this post and he finally acknowledged that "white might work". For him, that is a huge shift. I might get my white room yet.

Thanks for the ideas! My kitchen is extremely outdated. We moved into this house knowing that it was a "fixer upper", but I didn't realize how much the retro 70s kitchen was going to bother me. It is now on the top of my to do list.

What colours would look really modern and stylish? Preferabbly chic and modern, stylish and sophisticated. Besides the basic black and white....also do you have other articles about interior colour schemes. Tkhs.

I agree with neutral colors with regard to large surfaces (carpet, wall color & top of bed). Color is great but I prefer to do it with accents. I room can become over powering if it is overdone. I always contend that there is no right or wrong it depends on personal preference, although one can tire of a look of color as well I don't prefer the matchy matchy look to everything. Neutral colors will withstand the test of time. I think this applies to top of the bed as well. If one sticks with neutral – just swapping out the pillow shams and a few decorative pillows will give the bed an entirely new look. Many will use light pastel colors in the spring and summer and jewel tones in the fall and winter.

Hope this helps steve@verolinens.com
